Dignity, Wellness, and Respect

K-W Seniors Day Program is a community based, not for profit organization dedicated to helping seniors maintain individual health and wellness, a higher quality of life, and self esteem through a variety of group programs.  Participants are chauffeured from their residences to our facility to enjoy various activities including arts and crafts, games, music, nutritional meals, and special events.

Our mission is to promote wellness and dignity to seniors with physical, cognitive and mental health challenges through the provision of activities, socialization, nutrition and quality care.

We rely on the generosity of others in order to offer seniors our inclusive, client-centred programs. Read on to discover the various ways you can help.

There is an easy way to help to raise dollars for our program and it won’t even cost you a penny. There is a website which donates on your behalf every time you search the internet or shop online. It is called igive.com and isearchigive.com.
It is a free, easy way to raise money for the K-W Seniors Day Program just by searching the web or shopping online.
iSearchiGive.com is a search engine powered by iGive.com, the internet's first online shopping mall where a portion of each purchase is donated to your favorite cause.
See it for yourself at: iSearchiGive.com
Here's what makes iSearchiGive.com so useful:

  • It's free, fast, and easy-to-use
  • The donation is $0.01 per qualified search (no hidden fees, no limits)
  • Donation checks are sent every month
  • You can keep track of your individual contributions

If you shop online, up to 26% of each purchase via iGive.com also benefits this cause. There is a long list of merchants who work with through this website like flower shops, bookstores, Staples business depot, Avon, Canadian Tire to pretty much anything you can think of! Each merchant donates a different percent of your overall purchase to our program, when you sign up our program as your charitable organization.
Please give it a try! The numbers may seem small at first, but if we all search the web or do some shopping online, our combined efforts can add up to real funds for a great cause. And since it's powered by iGive.com (a site that has been helping causes raise money online since 1997), we know it's not just a flash in the pan!
Thanks!

What's New

September 16, 2014HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year!

I would like to extend a very warm and heartfelt wish to all of our program clients, volunteers and staff for a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

Another year is behind us as we face a new and exciting year ahead:  2016!!  WOW!  We are very happy to welcome new friends and have sadly had to say farewell to old friends.  Friends who will remain in our hearts with fond memories of the good times we shared together.

I would like to thank our many amazing volunteers and students who selflessly give of their time and talents throughout the year.   You are truly appreciated for your kindness and generousity and your unique skills and talents.  Thank you so much to those who gave us your extra time and joyful energy to help to make our Christmas Party fun for everyone and to help to ring in the Holiday Season and Christmas Spirit of giving!  The extra time that you so selflessly gave at our party was greatly appreciated!  We couldn't have done it without you!

I would also like to thank our remarkable program staff who work tirelessly putting in extra hours to come up with new ideas and fun activities and crafts to keep our program exciting and enjoyable for you!   Many of those great crafts were sold at our bazaar table in November and December to help to fundraise for our program.  Great work Valerie, Jackie, Gail, Sarah, Carolann, Jennifer, Amy and Eleni!!  And thank you for all your hard work!!  You are an amazing group of women!

A BIG thank you to May, Jessica, Joanna, Patricia and Paula who helped to man our craft table at the mall!  Especially during this busy time of year!  We were able to raise over $400 for the program! Outstanding!

A special thanks to Jennifer for the extra planning to make our KW Seniors Pan AM Games a huge success last summer!  Also, to Gail and her husband, Frank, for building our new super-sized Kerplunk Game!  If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a go!  It is a lot of fun!

I would also like to thank Paula for doing an amazing job organizing the transportation, invitations and programs for our Christmas Party and for all of the great work that you do all year coordinating the program and supervising our students and volunteers!  I truly appreciate all that you do!

I would also like to recognize and thank Grobe’s Nursery for donating all of the beautiful Poinsettias to decorate our tables at our Christmas Party! Thank you Peter and Leona for helping to make our party festive and beautiful!

I wish you all a year filled with happiness, good health and new friendships. We now look forward to a new year to create new memories and continue to share in more good times and laughter.  We are excited to try some new activities that the staff have worked hard creating, and to learn more from you about what you enjoy!

May we all welcome fresh starts, reaffirm our love of family and friends and enjoy a year filled with good health and happiness; fun and laughter; forgiveness and love.

I wish you and your families a very Happy and Healthy 2016!
